Tree of Life
The days to the 10th February 2010 are flying past and it is exciting to see the various rooms in the Heritage Centre taking shape. The Tree of Life Symbol in the legacy room is actually being built on site. The tree installation will fill the whole room, connecting different displays and emphasizing the fact that what the tree represents – the spirituality and the memory of Mary Potter – is something that connect many stories. This is further emphasized by the smooth lines from roots to branches and the fact that the tree is made from one material throughout. Lighting on the tree changes to reflect the changing seasons – a gentle reference to the LCM’s connection to the dying.
